Farm Details
Thunguri is a primary wet mill or “factory’ as they are known in Kenya. Located on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya in the Kirinyaga District. It is associated with the Kibirigwi Co Operative and has a total of 1025 active small holder farmers who deliver coffee each year to the wet mill for it to be fully washed, processed and sun dried.
Each small holder will have approximately half an acre of land producing coffee with just 270 trees each which can be cared for with immaculate attention to detail. Before pulping, all cherries are hand selected and graded to ensure consistent quality with the ‘AA’ grade being the highest.
