From Casa Espresso:

Poaquil is a little known region in Guatemala, sandwiched between some of the origin’s most famous coffee names: Acatenango, Atitlan and Antigua. Located in the state of Chimaltenango but close to the border of Quiche, the language spoken by most producers is K’ach’ikel. This, coupled with the remoteness and challenging terrain has meant Poaquil has often been forsaken by coffee buyers, even in the specialty world

Poaquil has some of the best potential in the country. Growing altitudes range up to 2,200masl – exceptional elevations rarely seen in coffee production. With altitude comes complexity and sparkling acidity, and these attributes are on full display with this micro-region. Seleccion Poaquil is our first love letter to this region, combining coffee from smallholders cultivating the varieties of Typica, Catuai, Caturra and Pache to capture the quintessential flavour of the region: brilliant acidity, juicy apples, red and black fruits.
