Getting product details...

Milk chocolate and caramel followed by notes of toast and an amaretti biscuit like finish. Delicious washed process coffee from an award winning family farm in Nicaragua.

From Artisan Roast:

Finca La Pradera lies high in the lush green forested hills of Dipilto and like many farms in the area the coffee thrives under dense, lush shade vegetation. This helps slow the ripening of the coffee down, encouraging improved sweetness and flavour profile once the beans have been roasted and brewed. Dipilto has become synonymous with quality in Nicaragua as a result and La Pradera is representative of the best of the region. The farm is owned and run by David Gutierrez, and his brother Joaquin owns Bella Aurora, another Nicaraguan firm favourite of Artisan Roast. La Pradera is run with the same family attention to detail and the fruits of this labour are a couple of awards in the Nicaraguan Cup of Excellence programme.

This micro-lot is made of pickings from across the farm focusing on the red caturra variety rather than a specific section of coffee trees. It is a delicious, straightforward caramel and chocolate driven warming cup of coffee roasted a little fuller to focus on the sugar browning aspects of it's flavour profile. After the initial milk chocolate flavours there are sweet toasty and caramel like aromas followed by an amaretti biscuit like finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, dense and creamy and the acidity is citrus like, medium to low in intensity and lingers long on the finish.
