Getting product details...

Workhorse is Horsham Coffee Roasters' signature espresso blend with tastes of chocolate, nuts & orange. The blend uses their "relationship coffees" that are sourced directly from the farmers. Currently it consists of single origins from Rwanda and Brazil.

From Horsham Coffee Roaster:

Consistent and dependable with a nutty, chocolate body with sweet orange and caramel notes. This coffee is ideal for espresso and works very well in milk based drinks. It is also excellent in a filter or Aeropress and gives lots of chocolate notes with a good body.

The Workhorse blend is built around the concept of consistency and reliability. This blend features our relationship coffees produced by hard working farmers around the world and purchased by us in large volumes. This gives us consistency over the course of the year enabling us to provide a reliable and dependable taste profile.

Our Workhorse blend is a light roast espresso and perfect if you like a bright, juicy but well balanced espresso. If you are looking for a traditional Italian style espresso take a look at our Nova Blend.

Current blend

Costa Rica El Higuito Honey 20%

Varietal: Caturra and Catuai

Process: Honey

Altitude: 1700 masl

This coffee comes from a small family farm that has been producing speciality coffee since 2016. Luis and his wife Rosemary started their micro mill, Montanas de Oro in 2016 to enable them to process small microlots from their 2 hectare farm in the Leon Cortez region of Tarrazu. They grow both Caturra and Catuai and produce a range of different microlots that include washed, honey and naturals.

Rwanda Bwishaza Co-operative Washing station, 30%

Varietal: Red Bourbon

Process: Washed

Altitude: 1650 masl

We first visited Rwanda in 2014 and over the last few years we've developed some very close relationships within the Rwandan coffee community. We first visited Bwishaza co-operative in 2015 and have been buying coffee from them every year.

Brazil Recanto Farm 50%

Varietal: Various

Process: Pulped Natural

Altitude: +-1100 masl

Recanto is a large farm that grows a wide range of varietals and focuses on producing really great coffees. We've selected this particular coffee as it has a traditional nutty, chocolate, sweet profile that works particularly well in a blend designed for espresso. The farm is both Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certified.

All the ingredients are excellent single origins in their own right and are often available to purchase on their own or as part of this blend.

The blend is subject to change at anytime however we aim to achieve a consistent taste profile.
