‘Coffee from China. Really?’ Is the usual response when the subject comes up.

We had the same response when this coffee was offered to us on a cupping table. However we were blown away by the consistency and complexity of the cup.

Yunnan province has a rich history for Tea production, being the home of black tea and forward thinking farmers and producers are making the most of the master varieties already in place with better and more considered processing techniques. Despite the increasingly wide array of Arabica varietals being frown across South East Asian Coffee producing countries, one still stands out as ubiquitous: Catimor.

Over the next few years we predict a significant shift in attitude from the global coffee community to this beautiful and bountiful region of Southeast Asia.
