Getting product details...

Our origin reserve taster pack is a selection of six unique single origin coffees from Artisan Roast that represents how processing and terroir combine to create diverse flavours. The coffees change regularly with the seasonality of coffee often including a Cup of Excellence selection or micro-lot exclusive to Artisan Roast making it a perfect gift for coffee enthusiasts.
The current selection is:
  • 1 x 100g La Mesa, Costa Rica
  • 1 x 100g FARAMI, Costa Rica
  • 1 x 100g Adado Natural, Ethiopia
  • 1 x 100g Adado Washed, Ethiopa
  • 1 x 100g Kiangoi PB, Kenya
  • 1 x 100g Ruli Musasa, Rwanda

There is a diverse selection of coffees here and the chance to try out a selection of brewing techniques. Our recommendations are:

La Mesa is a small typica variety selection from an award winning farm. In the cup it delivers everything that is great about coffees from the Tarrazu region in Costa Rica - delicious bold peach and tropical fruit flavours, caramel and chocolate undertones with a dense sweet mouthfeel that lingers long on the aftertaste. This coffee is very refined as a filter and luxurious as a french press.

Our red honey processed Typica from FARAMI is very sweet and has a delicious flavour profile centred around cane sugar, making it a very accessible speciality coffee. Back notes of raisin, plum and redcurrant work very well together with a syrupy mouthfeel. We love this coffee in a range of brewers - it's a great single origin espresso or filter and can take milk well too.

The natural process Adado is an excellent example of the sheer intensity of flavour profile produced by controlled natural processing in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia . A lovely floral note leads onto mango, strawberry and cherry in a very versatile coffee. Best drunk black and great as a filter, whilst also delivering equally high quality brews as an aeropress.

The second Adado offers an insight into how the washed process changes taste and flavour profile dramatically from the natural process. Phenomenally clean in the cup this coffee is best brewed as a filter to allow the perfumed jasmine aroma, along with stone fruit flavours of apricot and peach to shine.

Kiangoi is a classic bright and zesty Kenya balanced with bags of sweetness. The roast has been kept light to preserve the intense citric and apple like acidity of this lot and of the many flavours the stand out ones are fresh lemons, cranberry, blackcurrant with a syrupy melon finish. We love this brewed as a chemex to bring out the clarity and acidity of the coffee.

Ruli Musasa delivers the best of Western Rwanda. This beautiful coffee displays bold red fruit driven flavour profiles and silky smooth body. This lot has a floral front end and flavours of milk chocolate, dates and a little caramel dominate the cup. The high floral and fruit notes along with the complex acidity are more present on filter while to enjoy a more caramel centred brew the aeropress is our brew method of choice.
