From Horsham Coffee Roaster:

Our Organic Blend brings together two fantastic coffees from women producers in Guatemala and Peru. Roasted to highlight sweet, chocolate notes making this a perfect coffee for espresso brewing or if you enjoy coffee with rich chocolate notes and good body. Great both with and without milk!

Peru - Cafe femenino co-operative 50%

Cafe Femenino is a project set up to support and empower women coffee producers around the world. It's been many years since we last had their coffee and we are very pleased to welcome this one back.

The coffee is produced by around 800 women coffee producers. They grow a range of different varietals including Typica, Bourbon and Villa Sarchi. Coffee is hand-harvested and delivered to local collection centres and taken for processing at a wet mill. Coffee is pulped to remove the fruit, washed and then sun-dried. This is a really great example of clean, juicy and well balanced organic coffee produced in Peru.

Guatemala - Red de Mujeres Washed 50%

This coffee is organic certified and comes from a group of women coffee producers all who lost their husbands during the civil war and coffee crisis of 2001-2004. As a group, these women are stronger together and are able to produce fantastic coffee as a co-operative.

All of the contributing farm owners grown mixed tree varietals, Caturra, Bourbon and Typica and farms are typically 2 hectares or less. Coffee is usually one of several crops grown on small-hold farms and during the harvest season, the coffee hand-harvested and delivered to the local mill for processing.
