Mild in body, Cameroon Hosnia Special has subtle and rather sweet notes of chocolate. You may well detect some lemon and black tea flavours. And if your tastebuds are finely-tuned, delightful herbal flavours will be dancing around there too.
Pretty much all the coffee from Cameroon is grown by smallholder farmers. This one is grown in a region called Foumbot, which boasts volcanic, nutrient-rich soil… good stuff for growing coffee.
The population of Kouoptamo village is about 500. It’s wet mill is one of several being built in the Foumbot area, along with construction of a clean water source for the community surrounding the mill itself.
Coffee in Cameroon is grown at altitudes between 1200-1500m in the lower regions and up to 2000m at the higher altitudes. With the average rainfall of over 100 inches per year, we’ve got a pair of sturdy wellies and high hopes that we’ll see more superb coffee and brilliant footballers, come out of this amazing country.
