Getting product details...

Floral and clean with notes of apricot, nectarine and a hint of jasmine.
Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of coffee and has more than 1.1 million small hold coffee farmers. The Sidamo region is known for producing clean and unique tasting washed coffees with interesting fruit notes.

The Hunkute co-operative is located at about 2000masl. There are about 1700 smallhold farmers who harvest and deliver cherries to collection points or the washing station. The cherries are hand sorted first, then processed using the washed method and graded in washing channels before undergoing 12-24 hours of wet fermentation. After this process the cherries are sundried for 10-15 days on raised tables.

This coffee has great floral notes with a hint of jasmine. The fruit notes are well balanced with apricot and nectarine. This is a versatile coffee, great both as a filter coffee or espresso. Ethiopian coffee is very diverse in flavour and this one is quite different to our other Sidamo coffee from the Layo Terega co-operative.
