From Climpson & Sons:

Introducing the Esperança lot #94 from Brazil. A naturally processed coffee full of dried fruit and caramel sweetness. Great for immersion brews to highlight this coffee's inherent body.

Fazenda Esperança is run by the infamous and inimitable Bruno Souza, a true pioneer of Brazilian speciality coffee. Having first established a friendship with Bruno in Europe, a number of the Climpson team were then hosted at his farm in late 2016. Fast forward another year and samples from his latest harvest were some of the most interesting Brazilian coffees we had ever seen. As such, we are proud to offer Esperança lot #94, a natural processed coffee full of dried fruit and caramel sweetness.

Bruno Souza is a fourth generation coffee producer and follows in his fathers footsteps in championing the potential of high quality Brazilian coffees. Having founded a green coffee import business in the US he then returned to Brazil to share his knowledge with local producers. With his own farm as a model of excellence Bruno is able to support other farmers with processing and export guidance as well as offering barista, sensory and Q grading courses.

Situated in the Cerrado Mineiro region Fazenda Esperança is seen as an industry leader in quality standards. Natural process lots are constantly monitored and dried on patios over 18 days. To ensure even and stable moisture content these coffees are moved up to 10 times a day and then heaped overnight to regulate consistency. Even the varietals of coffee grown are unique to Brazil with Topazio and Rubi developed by the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (IAC). These descend from Catuai and Mundo Novo bringing crisp sweetness, balance and sustainable level of production.
