From Horsham Coffee Roaster:

Notes of honey, nuts and chocolate with a rich body and delicate acidity.

Serra Negra is a farm located in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil and is owned by Pedro and Winefrida Rossi. The average altitude of the farm is 1100-1200 masl and this particular lot comes from the Mundo Novo tree varietal. The closest major town is Patrocinio and on google maps you can see the outline of the extinct volcano to the south east.

This year we have two outstanding lots from the same farm, sourced for us by our friends at De Luca coffee. They are a small business that specializes in importing outstanding Brazilian coffees from their friends farms. We have been buying lots from this farm for three years now and each year the quality has surpassed our expectations.

High quality Brazilian coffees are known for their nutty, full bodied character and this is no exception. The nutty flavour can best be described as almond and pecan and the honey like sweetness brings to mind almond nougat. This is a great coffee with milk and makes an outstandingly well balanced espresso.
