Finca Jauja has a long history in the Antigua area as a coffee producing farm being one of the very first to be planted. Owned by the Herrera family the plantation gained a reputation for superb coffee until the farm fell on to hard times in the last 20 years. A lack of interest and investment by the original owners decendants led the farms demise.
Located on the outskirts of Antigua this coffee is grown under the protection of Gravilea shade trees at an altitude of 1550 metres.

In 2010 Ricardo Zelaya of Finca Santa Clara, a favourite here at Silver Oak Coffee, began renting the farm. Extensive rebuilding and investment was undertaken with specific attention paid to topsoil replacement and the planting of the Bourbon varietal. The Finca Santa Clara team of managers and workers now handle to day to day running of this farm with a drive to continue to improve quality.

After hand picking all processing is undertaken at the nearby Finca Santa Clara wash mill.

When do we roast and post your coffee?

We roast on TUESDAYs and sometimes on Saturdays if stocks are low. We dispatch orders Monday thru Friday by Royal Mail - 1st or 2nd class.

Orders for 1-3 bags are sent Royal Mail 1st Class. Orders for 4-7 bags are sent via a courier.
