Gelana Abaya is region within the Yirga Cheffe zone. This area is nestled between Lake Abaya on the west and the town of Yirgacheffe on the East. Many coffees are still sold with traceability just to Yirgacheffe but in the last few years traceability has greatly improved down to small regions within the larger area.

Natural processing is done by drying the coffee cherries with the fruit on which means the coffee beans absorb much more of the dried fruit flavours than you would expect from a washed coffee.
