From Horsham Coffee Roaster:
Tasting notes: Milk Chocolate, Peach, Hazelnut
Brewing: This coffee works well with all filter brewers and espresso. For filter we recommend a 1 - 15.5 brew ratio, and for espresso a 1 - 2.1 brew ratio.
e.g. Filter: 16g - 250ml // Espresso: 18g - 38ml
Brazil is the worlds largest coffee producer and in 2014 the total production was around 2.7 million tons. To put this into perspective, Ethiopia, the largest producer in Africa produced about 400000 tons in the same year.
A large amount of the coffee produced in Brazil is low grade arabica or robusta. However, many farms focus on quality and Brazil exports a massive range of different flavour profiles. Most coffee is processed using the natural or pulped natural method resulting in nutty, chocolate flavours that many coffee drinkers love.
Serra Negra is a farm in the Minas Gerais region owned and managed by the Rossi family. They grow a range of different varietals and process both natural and pulped natural coffees. We selected this particular coffee when cupping a range of pre-shipment samples sent to us by Liliane at DLV Coffee. Having bought coffee for several years now from Serra Negra we were very happy to find another stunning lot from the same farm. This year we've selected a natural processed Catuai.
