This is it people! This coffee is without doubt our most anticipated yet. This bean has just been showcased as espresso at Cup North to universal acclaim and, at times, near feverish excitement. It’s this bean that we feel best illustrates the value in working so closely with a world class barista throughout the roast profiling process. Although you can buy this bean elsewhere, we feel that we have unlocked the potential of this crop in a way that no-one else has yet managed to do.
Prior to Cup North, we gave an exclusive pre-release quantity of Rocko Mountain Reserve to UK Coffee Forums, for their ‘Lighter Side of Life’ subscription club. Clearly this is special coffee but don’t take our word for it, read what UK Coffee Forum members made of it here
So, we have a slightly lighter roast than you may be used to from us. You’ll find an abundance of strawberries and wild florals as soon as you grind the coffee and these flavours shine through however you approach brewing it. In espresso you have that natural funk but it presents itself in an unusually clean and sophisticated way. It’s exciting without being overpowering. Flatties taste like strawberry milkshakes but with a boozy, heady finish.
In hand brewed you’ll still get huge fruits and florals; but it’s the way the complexity, the funk and the mouthfeel combine that make this coffee so drinkable.
Please be aware that some of the money made from the sale of this coffee goes to Girls Gotta Run Foundation. This is a really clever organisation that promotes women’s rights in a really smart way. You can read about what they do here
