From Dear Green Coffee Roasters:

BRIGHT, BROWN SUGAR, ORANGE

Latumba washing station is situated along the shores of Lake Kivi, one of the Great Lakes of Africa, resting at 1700 metres above sea level.

The AMKA Co-op has a total of 1,400 members who are currently rebuilding following decades of conflict and economic turmoil.

The washing station was built in 2014 with the help of a Belgian NGO, COMEQUI, who have been working there since 2009 to empower coffee farmers through education, and creating co-operatives to bring people together and widen agricultural skills. Their goal is to help the farmers become self-sustainable whilst improving their income and lives.
