From Climpson & Sons:
We particularly love being able to revisit the origin story of this bean, which goes back over 50 years to when farmer Don Eleodoro would travel for days by foot to acquire coffee cherries and then travel back to sell it to a mill. Realising the business potential, he purchased his first farm in 1953 and things have continued to grow and expand ever since. Now in his 90's, Eleodoro is cared for by his son Aurelio, who also looks after the farm and manages the family business. Over the past few years, Eleodoro and Aurelio's coffees have regularly placed in the top ten of the Cup of Excellence.
Thanks to dry, hot winds that blow from Mexico’s Tehuantepec plain, the Huehuetenango region is largely protected from frost, which allows for cultivation at much higher altitudes.
