The Coffee Roasters

Getting roaster details...

The Coffee Roasters was founded by Lloyd Burgess and Jayne Pye at the end of 2013. Lloyd is a kiwi and was the winner of the 1999 BBC MasterChef competition.

Lloyd has always been very interested in coffee and his insight into roasting started when visiting friends, in Auckland, New Zealand. They run an award winning roasting business - Veni Coffee.

Upon returning to the UK, it was a revelation to discover the diverse and growing number of independent artisan roasters. Lloyd now maintains a BIG List of UK Coffee Roasters on this site and also on Twitter.

We were inspired by the wonderful Colonna & Small's speciality coffee house in Bath - owned by Maxwell, the 2012 & 2014 UK Barista champion and two new startup roasters - Round Hill Roastery near Bath and Red Cherry Coffee Roasters in Whitstable, Kent.

Our aim is to make it easier to find and buy a variety of freshly roasted coffee from UK artisan roasters.

We hope you find the site informative and useful, and if you would like to get in contact, we would love to hear from you.
