Cast Iron Coffee Roasters - Rwanda - Cyanika - Washed Red Bourbon

Not available

Getting product details...

From Guy at Cast Iron Coffee Roasters:

A stunning washed Rwandan bourbon imported from our friends at Nordic Approach in Oslo. Cyanika lot number #805 is shade grown and very rich with a herb aroma - initial red current acidity leads to stone fruit sweetness and a vanilla finish.

This coffee is available in two roast profiles - Espresso Roast and Filter Roast.

Cyanika is one of the smaller communities in the hills around the Remera washing station in Nyamagabe in the south of Rwanda. The producer separates the coffees by area and date of picking until its cupped and approved. The collection site receives cherry that are then transported to Remera where they are floated, pulped, fermented and soaked before being dried under shade on raised beds.

Farms in Cyanika are generally very small, where families take care of the coffee trees and pick the cherries themselves. Farmers will either carry their cherry by foot or bicycle to Remera for processing.

Remera is owned by producers, Epiphanie and her son Samuel Muhirwa. They began operating around mid 2000 and from the beginning have focused on quality.
