From Clifton Coffee:

A delicious coffee with a heavy body, smooth dark chocolate notes with a hint of spice, lychee and lemon acidity. This coffee makes a great, full-bodied espresso and works well as a delicious filter too!

Historically, Mexican coffee was viewed as an inexpensive, low grown coffee primarily used for blending with fairly generic cup characteristics. However, today the specialty industry has seen some incredible developments, careful farming and meticulous processing has lead to extremely interesting complex citric and magic acidity, balanced sweetness and an overall clean cup. Mexican coffee has come as long way in the last decade, and we are now seeing coffees which are undoubtedly changing people’s perspective.

We have been buying coffee from Mexico for the last 2 years now, and are very excited to see quality improve harvest upon harvest, year upon year. This delicious coffee is grown in the Chiapas highlands around Motozintla in Southern Mexico. Grown at an altitude between 1,100 and 1,600 metres above sea level, the coffee cherries are carefully picked and processed into parchment where it’s then transported to the organic dry mill in Tapachula, until it’s ready to be exported.
