From Rounton Coffee Roasters:

From Candido Criollo, owner of Finca La Divisa:

At the age of 18 I left home. I travelled around a bit and now I’m here in Planadas, cultivating coffee. The farm is called La Divisa in the municipality of Planadas in the hamlet 'Vista Hermosa’, and we have a mixture of Caturra, Arabigo and F8 plants.

We bought the farm 8 years ago, and have 6000 trees of Caturra, 2000 of F8 and there are 1000 of Arabigo. It is located over 2000masl with some crops up to 2,050masl. The process that we do here with the coffee is an extended fermentation, usually around 48hours. The coffees are then washed to give it a unique flavour.

One of the motives that drove me to have coffee is that with it you can raise a family. There has been a benefit for me in the coffee price in that you get paid a bit more.

From Rounton Coffee

This coffee is incredibly important to us, as the amount of information we have about the farm and process is unlike anything we've ever had before. To have this level of transparency is what we've always hoped for with the coffees we source.

We have worked alongside John and Claudia from 'The Green Collection' to source this coffee. Their dedication to go the extra mile and provide a quality development program means that the farmers they work with get a real share of the action. We're lucky to be able to source this coffee so directly, and enjoy how fresh and exciting the crop is.
