Rinaldo's Coffee: Colombia, La Aurora, Microlot, Washed

We're always delighted to have a new coffee from Colombia and this newly arrived ORGANIC MICROLOT, is truly astounding.

Leider Rubio is the head producer on this 32-hectare farm and he works with his brother. There are two houses and both families live and farm together. Their close bonds have made the operation highly efficient and for this reason, the farm has become a regional model of how to produce coffee. As a lot of the hard work that they put into the production was already meeting organic standards they decided to become certified to officially recognise this effort and dedication.

Leider’s farm is located in the countryside in Planadas, Tolima. It borders a small settlement called El Cumbre, which is named this way as this mountainous landscape is much higher than the surrounding area. In fact, Leider’s farm is higher than average for the region, reaching 1900 MASL in some parts.

Beautifully balanced, with nougat, chocolate and orange notes, this bean is a great all-rounder. Colombian coffee is such a versatile full-bodied coffee that it works perfectly in most brewing methods, yet still retains lovely floral notes.
