From Climpson & Sons:

We're delighted to once again visit the Slopes of 8 for the third year in a row. Expect a really grown up coffee here. This year’s crop is more floral with super jammy fruits and plenty of sophistication.

Our first Kenyan release is the return of the Slopes of 8 smallholders, a collective of 8 neighbouring farmers from the Kirinyaga region near Mt Kenya.

Working together with a local agronomist, the producers are continually improving quality by processing their own coffee and choosing to by-pass the central auction system, selling directly as this collaborative project. Rather than submitting their coffee to a large co-op or factory, this project allows the group to maintain their own processing standards with the added return of improved prices paid directly to them.

The first year we bought this coffee with the intention of developing a closer working relationship with producers and to secure the rare opportunity to work with the same Kenyan coffee each year. Having visited last year we were impressed with their ongoing efforts resulting in an a more complex and transparent coffee.

Expect florals and a jammy fruitiness, expect to see this coffee on the Climpson & Sons menu for many years to come.
