From Climpson & Sons:

When it comes to brightness and complexity Rwandan coffees offer a perfect balance. This lot from the Vunga Cooperative is roasted with filter brewers in mind and offers tropical fruit and tea-like flavour notes.

Founded in 2009, the Vunga Cooperative is located in the Nyabihu region of Rwanda’s Western Province. The Cooperative is led by women and processes the coffee of over 200 smallholder members that deliver coffee cherry to the washing station. Here coffee is hand sorted and floated to separate any under or over ripe cherries. It is then pulped (to separate beans from the fruit), washed and briefly fermented for 6 hours in newly built washing channels. The cooperatives meticulously clean coffee is then slowly dried on raised beds for over 30 days and laser colour sorted before export.

This incredible attention to detail leads to a refined and consistently clean cup profile. Expect a soft and complex cup with notes of blood orange and coconut.
