As a country a few barriers are going to have to be overcome before they really start to be a common origin on the shelves of speciality coffee shops. 95% of the coffee produced in Papua New Guinea is done so by small holders, although it hopefully will be come a positive in years to come because of the uniqueness of microlot coffee it currently is a problem as farmers don’t have that appropriate machinery to process the coffee so are forced to sell to large washing stations who mix the coffee.
