From Clifton Coffee Roasters:

COMSA are an association of producers from the Marcala area of Honduras. Founded in 2001, COMSA creates new and alternative development opportunities for smallholder farmers in the region. Originally composed of 69 farmers of Lenca origin as a rural credit union, the Co-op now contains over 1200 members.

COMSA place a large focus on organic production and sustainable farming, and hold Organic, Fair Trade and Bird Friendly certification across the membership. In 2016 they launched the Diplomado Organico, a week long intensive course in organic farming and the relationship between smallholders, their ecosystem, and the health of communities on both sides of the supply chain.
