From Artisan Roast:

Even though Fazenda Colina lies in the coffee heartlands of Sul de Minas in Brazil its completely unique terroir sets it apart from surrounding farms. Visiting Colina means leaving the rolling hills and medium altitude, and driving up to a vast, raised hilly outcrop, inhabited by jaguar and with a visual nod to the Scottish Highlands.

At over 300m higher than the surroundings its cool climate means Colina’s coffee crop ripens only when many farms have finished their harvest.  This slow development of coffee fruit almost always leads to improved drinking quality and this is no exception to the rule.  The farm’s lofty aspect and cooler climate brings a longer drying time for the cherries too and this helps preserve natural sweetness further.

Fazenda Colina is an accessible and versatile coffee for home coffee brewing. We've roasted it with cafetiere, aeropress or single-origin espresso in mind - and these brew methods will bring out the chocolate and berry fruit aspects of the coffee.
