Getting product details...

This coffee is from the TARE washing station in the Southern Province of Rwanda. Decaffeinated using the chemical free Swiss Water method. This still preserves the delicious qualities of this coffee.

From Clifton Coffee Roasters:

This coffee is the results of an independent farmers saving group within the TARE washing station. Producers are paid second payment premiums above their cherry price on high scoring specialty coffee once the coffee is exported. The producers of TARE washing station have pooled together to save these premiums and use their combined buying power to re-invest in their facilities, raise quality and thus increase the premiums received on the next harvest. This circular development economy serves to buffer the producers from low prices and inconsistent access to funds, driving quality year on year.

The coffee has been floated, pulped and then fermented for 12 hours. After this the coffee is washed and sorted for visual defects. The coffee is then dried on raised beds to 12% moisture before being placed into storage prior to dry milling and laser sorting pre-export.
