From Rinaldo's Coffee:

We're delighted to get some high-end Nicaragua coffee, which has been a favourite country of origin here at Rinaldo's. The current offering hails from 15 smallholders in La Cordiller, a bio-diverse nature reserve.

This is our second venture to the Dipilto Municipality, Nueva Segovia. La Cordillera coffee we've sourced is a beautiful full-bodied coffee with peach, almond and caramel notes.

La Cordillera is produced by 15 small-scale coffee growers, settled in la Cordillera of Dipilto, a nature reserve with a wide biodiversity of flora and fauna, located very close to the border of Honduras. Within this mountain range, the highest peak in Nicaragua can be found, the Cerro Mogoton, which reaches the grand height of 2106 MASL. Within this ecosystem, various water sources are born, they are the lifeblood of the flora and fauna of this region, a region that is also famous for its delicious coffee. In fact, its known as the capital of specialty coffee in Nicaragua. The region is also popular for the annual celebration of the Guadalupe Virgin feasts. The Virgin referred to is often called the Virgende la Piedra, a large statue that looks down over the region from a sacred monument in Dipilto.

Flavour notes:

for aeropress: so so clean. Jasmine tea like, peach, sweet and sugary and complex.

for espresso: vanilla, cream soda, sugary lemon. Initially bright but then immediately balances with a sugary body and a long peach and chocolate finish. When drunk through milk, it tastes like lemon meringue pie!
