Getting product details...

From Cast Iron Coffee Roasters:

Derived from Amharic language, Biftu Gudina means "Ray of Development." The cooperative was established in 2012 and is located in the Agaro - Goma woreda (district) within the Jimma zone. There are about 150 smallholders in total. Located near Jimma town, the co-op benefits from high altitude and rich fertile soils.

Since Biftu Gudina was established, it has become famous in speciality coffee circles thanks to its incredibly complex and luscious flavour. Consequently, their coffees now command prices that farmers could only have dreamt of in the past, often as much as four times more. Always one of the most eagerly anticipated arrivals of the season, Biftu Gudina is a classic Ethiopian.

Brewing notes

FILTER - This coffee is light, delicate and complex - everything you would expect from a great washed Ethiopian. One for all you black filter coffee lovers! We like to use a V60 or Kalita for the Biftu Gudina to fully enjoy its complexity & sweet flavours. We recommend using 30g for 500ml of water and a total brew time of 3:00 for V60 or 3:15 for the Kalita.
