From Clifton Coffee Roasters:

60% ETHIOPIA – WERKA WURI (WASHED)

Werka Wuri is a BNT washing station that processes cherries from over 750 small holders located in Gedeb. BNT Industries are one of the the most prestigious Ethiopian Exporters and pay pre-finance and post harvest premiums for farmers who harvest the ripest coffee cherries. We are raising a premium fund and working with the Ethiopian Government to help build a school in Gedeb to provide education to over 1000 children.

20% UGANDA – RWENZORI LOT 55 (NATURAL)

The Rwenzoris stretch along the Western border of Uganda and are famously known as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’ as their snowy peaks reach 5000 masl. The area is home to the Bakonzo tribe, long standing coffee producers. The high altitude, fertile soils and plentiful rainfall provide perfect growing conditions for Arabica coffee. Coffee offers the Bakonzo farmers a stable income that allows them to support their families and develop their homes.

20% MYANMAR – SHAN STATE (WASHED)

From the remote mountainous area of Ywangan, Southern Myanmar. Produced by smallholders, each of whom cultivate coffee plants with a variety of other produce to provide shade cover. Once the cherry arrives at the mill they are pulped and fermented overnight in tiled tanks. Then sent to dry on concrete patios. Cherry pulp gets sent back to farms immediately for fertiliser and waste water is treated before being reused to irrigate coffee trees.
