From Cast Iron Coffee Roasters:

The Gisheke wash station is the hidden gem of Rwandan Coffee. Located between two steep hills and overlooking Lake Kivu, the only way to get to Gisheke is by boat. 40% of the coffee comes from Idjwi island and is delivered by boat for processing. The warm winds that blow down the lake and up between the hills give perfect drying conditions for the fresh cherries.

This is a delightful African coffee with flavour characteristics that remind us of the very best Kenyan coffees. It shows the rapid progress in quality Rwandan coffees have made in recent years. Crisp clean green apple flavour lead in sweet rhubarb notes and a clean chamomile tea finish, this coffee is wonderfully balanced.
